Your home should know who you are.
Not a curated version of you. Not the part that fits into a trend. All of you. Your roots, the worlds you’ve moved through, the cultures that shaped you, the person you’re still becoming.
That’s what OKANLY is built around.
Why I created OKANLY
For too long, “good taste” looked like one thing: neutral, minimalist, a visual language that was never built with us in mind.
Meanwhile, some of the most extraordinary design in the world — rooted in African heritage and centuries of craft — was sitting on the margins. Labelled ethnic.
OKANLY exists to change that. Not by introducing African design to the world — but by helping you bring it home on your terms.
What You’ll find here
Every article, guide, and recommendation is chosen with one purpose: helping you build a home that truly resonates.
That means three things:
Interior Design — the spaces and inspirations pushing the boundaries of what a home can be.
Home Decor — pieces and styling ideas rooted in identity rather than trend.
Art & Craftsmanship — the artists, the makers, the techniques, and the objects worth knowing.
Who this is for
If you’ve ever walked into your home and felt like something was missing — not a piece of furniture, but a piece of yourself — this is for you.
If you’re Afro-descendant, diaspora-raised, living between worlds, or simply someone whose identity has never fit neatly into a single box — this is for you.
And if you believe your home should tell your whole story — this is definitely for you.
Welcome to OKANLY — African design curated for the diaspora.
